Are Mid-Day Squares Kosher?Updated a month ago

1. Are Mid-Day Squares still Kosher certified?

Short answer:

No - products produced on or after April 2nd, 2026 are no longer Kosher certified.

Our official statement:

As of April 2nd, 2026, Mid-Day Squares products are no longer Kosher certified.

This was not a decision we took lightly. From the beginning, we’ve worked hard to earn and maintain Kosher certification because we know how important it is to many members of our community.

As we prepared to launch a new flavor, we were unable to source one key ingredient in a Kosher-certified format, despite extensive efforts.

Because all of our products are made on a single production line, we are unable to alternate between Kosher and non-Kosher production without undergoing a formal kosherization process between runs. This is a specific religious procedure and not something that can be done operationally at the scale and frequency required.

As a result, products produced on or after April 2nd, 2026 are no longer Kosher certified.

We understand this may be disappointing, and we’re truly sorry to those who relied on this certification.

2. Why did Mid-Day Squares stop being Kosher certified?

The change comes down to ingredient sourcing and production limitations.

We were unable to secure one key ingredient in a Kosher-certified form for an upcoming product, despite significant effort.

Because we manufacture all flavors on a single production line, maintaining Kosher certification would require performing a full kosherization process between production runs. This process is separate from standard sanitation and is not currently feasible for us to perform repeatedly. As a result, we made the difficult decision to pause Kosher certification.

3. Has anything changed about the product?

No - nothing about the product itself has changed.

  • Ingredients → unchanged

  • Taste → unchanged

  • Quality → unchanged

  • Food safety standards → unchanged

This change is strictly related to certification status, not the product itself.

4. How can I tell if my product is still Kosher certified?

You can identify this directly on the packaging:

  • ✅ Products with the “COR” symbol → Kosher certified

  • ❌ Products without the symbol → Not Kosher certified

During this transition period, both versions may exist in stores.

5. Are any Mid-Day Squares still Kosher certified?

During the transition period, some previously produced inventory remains Kosher certified.

You may still find Kosher-certified products in retail stores while inventory lasts.

If your squares have the "COR" symbol on the packaging, they are Kosher.

6. Do Mid-Day Squares still follow Kosher standards?

While our products are no longer Kosher certified, we continue to maintain high standards of:

  • Ingredient quality

  • Manufacturing processes

  • Food safety and sanitation

However, without official certification, we cannot represent the products as Kosher.

Customers who follow a Kosher diet should use their own discretion based on their personal standards.

7. Will Mid-Day Squares become Kosher certified again?

We hope so.

We are actively working to find a Kosher-certified source for the ingredient in question. If we’re able to secure a reliable and sustainable solution, we would absolutely pursue reinstating certification.

This is something we care deeply about and will continue to explore.

8. Does this affect food safety or cleanliness?

No - not at all.

This change is not related to food safety or sanitation.

Kosher certification involves specific religious processes that are separate from standard food safety practices.

We continue to maintain strict food safety and quality standards across all products.
